Volcanoes of Chile

📍 Conguillio National Park, Chile Feb 2025 📷 Nikon Z5 Chile

Behind the frame

We climbed the Sierra Nevada hike in Conguillio National Park in the Volcanoes Region of Chile on a cloudless day. As you walk through these ancient forests of Aracania trees you come out above the tree line facing the great volcano. If you look to the left you can see another volcanoe, which I believe is Villarica.

The black lava fields from Conguillio's numerous eruptions mar the area but also create an alien-like landscape as you drive through. The ancient Aracania trees pop up above the other foliage. Those trees themselves are a sight to behold.
